About Job/Role
The role is for an NLP Lead Data Scientist, responsible for building advanced NLP and Generative AI solutions, transforming unstructured text, audio, or image data into actionable insights. The role requires strong expertise in machine learning, NLP/LLM techniques, consulting experience in FS/Banking domain, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms and AI frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Build solutions to extract intent, entities, and other features from user comments, chat transcripts, and unstructured data
Design and implement NLP solutions using traditional models and Large Language Models (LLMs)
Take ownership of end-to-end AI solutions, including research, development, and deployment
Train and fine-tune pre-trained NLP models; run evaluation experiments and refine models based on statistical analysis
Develop and maintain code libraries, tools, and frameworks to support Generative AI development
Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
Engage in the full software development lifecycle: design, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging, contribute to roadmaps, and ensure system integration
Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Primary Skills

Natural Language Processing (NLP): Use case classification, topic modeling, Q&A, chatbots, search, Document AI, summarization, content generation
Computer Vision & Audio (Optional): Image classification, object detection, segmentation, image/audio/video generation/analysis
Generative AI: SaaS LLMs (LangChain, LlamaIndex), vector databases, prompt engineering (COT, TOT, ReAct, agents), Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock
Open-source LLMs: TensorFlow/PyTorch, HuggingFace, techniques like quantization, fine-tuning using PEFT, RLHF, GPU utilization
Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP; cloud certifications preferred
Application Development: Python, Docker, FastAPI/Django/Flask, Git
Domain Expertise: FS/Banking consulting experience (3+ years)

Required Qualifications

16–20 years of experience with deep learning frameworks like Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow
Experience designing, building, and deploying ML/NLP solutions
Proficient in Python & SQL
Hands-on experience with NLP tools: Gensim, Spacy, Stanford NLP, HuggingFace
Strong project/program management skills managing multiple workstreams
Business acumen to quantify client value and drive profitable engagements
