About the Job/Role

We are looking for a Senior/Staff MLOps Engineer (Python Backend) to join the engineering team at DataOrb.
You will be part of the Applications team, responsible for leading the development of customer-focused products, defining technical strategies, and ensuring the delivery of scalable Python backend systems.
This role involves technical leadership, mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build AI/ML-powered SaaS solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of backend engineers to deliver high-quality software releases on time.
Plan sprints, allocate resources, and manage team capacity according to business priorities.
Act as a bridge between Product Owners, Stakeholders, and the Engineering team to translate requirements into actionable tasks.
Provide technical leadership in architecture, scalability, and performance optimization of Python-based backend services.
Review code, designs, and implementations to ensure best practices and maintainability.
Contribute to PoCs, prototypes, and production-critical features when needed.
Enforce clean code principles, testing strategies, and observability standards.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, coding standards, and best practices.
Mentor and coach engineers, conduct performance reviews, and support their career development.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
Stay updated with modern tools, frameworks, and practices in Python and cloud technologies.

Required Qualification

10+ years of professional software engineering experience with focus on Python backend development.
3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, performant, production-grade systems.
Strong understanding of cloud architectures (AWS preferred), microservices, and SaaS platforms.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and technical design skills.
Experience mentoring teams, planning deliveries, and communicating with stakeholders.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
